Become a Training Site
Are you interested in serving as a partner site in the chwCORE program? This webpage will give an overview of benefits and expectations.
Why should your organization become a CHW training site?
Your organization is looking to train existing employees to become Community Health Worker certified.
Your organization is looking to host trained CHWs as an experiential learning site.
Your organization is seeking trained CHWs for employment.
Your organization can provide support in the CHW training process.
What are the benefits of hosting a CHW trainee?
Hosting a CHW trainee is at no cost to your organization.
Organizations can host trainees in part- or full-time positions across a variety of health topics and roles.
Access a growing pool of certified applicants to employ for the long run.
What are your organization's responsibilities while hosting a chwCORE trainee?
Your organization would help ensure trainees keep up with their trainings and reports as part of the chwCORE training program requirements.
Your organization is required to keep trainees involved in healthcare related activities over the span of their placement.
Your organization would commit to providing opportunities to trainees to interface with community members, clients, and local organizations.
Your organization will have to keep track of trainee hours in order to fulfill the requirements of the training program.
Things to note:
A CHW trainee hosted at your site can be included on an existing project and does not need to begin something new that is tailored to the trainee.
Established employees at your organization can complete the chwCORE training and count their regular hours as experiential learning time that is required in their training certification. Not all established healthcare workers will be eligible for the stipend.
In order to meet program eligibility requirements, applicants must: be 18 years or older, work in Pennsylvania or Delaware, and be a US citizen.
